Thank you for participating in the 2020 Halloween Candy Give Back Program Direct Delivery Initiative with your generous donation of 99lbs of candy. With the help of grateful Americans like you, we collect and deliver up to 500,000 pounds of candy each year.
The candy you collected and delivered helps unite and strengthen communities here at home. It brings joy and a great morale boost to our Military, First Responders and Frontline Heroes and also reminds our Veterans how much we value their service and appreciate their courage, commitment, and sacrifice. Because of you, Military, Veterans, First Responders and Frontline Heroes get to know the citizens they serve and protect at local candy delivery events.
To demonstrate your impact, I want to share one a special note we received, from an Army base in Los Angeles this year regarding their Direct Delivery experience:
To demonstrate your impact, I want to share one of my favorite emails with you. It reminds me of what it was like to receive Care Packages during long deployments away from my own three sons:
“From the Soldiers of the U.S. Army Recruiting Battalion Los Angeles we want to say Thank You. It is amazing knowing that the community cares that much about the Soldiers. We truly appreciate everyone who worked and donated the candy. It is not about the candy it is about making so many of our Soldiers, who are away from their families and with COVID restrictions will probably not be going home this Holiday Season, feel appreciated and part of the community. Again thanks and we want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season.”
Thank you again for taking action with Operation Gratitude. Every single piece of candy we receive furthers our mission, and the recipients of your generosity will remember that it’s not just candy…it’s a reminder of the unwavering support and appreciation of the American people, and a way to bring people together both at home and abroad. That’s a big impact from a little candy!
With Warm Regards and Semper Fidelis,
