October is National Dental Hygiene Month and Parkview Dental is honoring a hygienist each week in the month. Today we recognize Tracy and her 24 years of service at our dental clinic.
How has the hygiene world changed since you started? Over the years, hygienists have become more than “tooth cleaners.” We aid in the evaluation of dental emergencies. We can administer nitrous oxide and local anesthetics. Hygienists treat periodontal disease in office where we used to refer all cases to a specialist. Computers have become our charts. Digital x-rays give us instant images. Ultrasonic instruments are now used routinely. We can wear colored uniforms not just white! 🙂
Best memory or event that happened during your career? I have no one particular memory~I have enjoyed the relationships I’ve formed with many of my patients over the years and hopefully I’ve made a difference in their dental health.
Any other fun information you would like to share about you and your career? I have worked at only Parkview Dental my entire career. I love the people I work with and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon!
Thank you Tracy for your many years of service as a hygienist. Our dental clinic is blessed to have your talents and experience!!!
